So today was the first day that I treated myself in this new year (08). We went to Viejas today to ice skate for the first time, took Rosanna her kids but it was a total let down to only find out that the ice skate rink will be closed for the entire day/night. So we went shopping instead; went to Nine West and see if they have some shoes that I’ll like. While in the store, Rosanna took her kids somewhere else while I check the shoes. I bought myself two pair of heeled shoes and I really ~~like~~ love them!!!! Then went to Fossil and bought myself a watch; I’ll be wearing a watch again after like two years(?), hehehe the tan watch will be back. The price of the watch was a really nice deal, the original cost was $75 less tax and today I bought it for $32.50 including tax..I love it too. I also tried looking for some clothes but I didn’t like what I had seen so forget that. So overall, I popped up around $12o or so, not bad.

So it’s a NEW YEAR!!

We all have our agendas for this new year, new beginning and let’s just hope that we all accomplish them!

I want to spend New Year’s Eve somewhere in downtown San Diego next year or Las Vegas…anywhere with my friends. Christine’s birthday on the fourth and she’s not back yet here in the U.S. and I so dearly miss her! She hasnt returned my emails and I can’t contact her via international phone since she didn’t give me a number before she left.

Anyway, I was going to take my nephews to Six flags today but yea, changed the plans at the last minute, was bummed about it. Later today after chopping the veggie ingredients for the dish, I went out to the theatre and watched National Treasures. I liked it but sorta confused towards the end; I told myself to watch Atonement instead of NT but I totally forgot and just remembered Atonement when I saw the commercial of it on t.v. after seeing NT…jajajaajajaaa

I saw a brief astrology report on T.V. and the report says that Ox will find some sort of romance. Hmm..we will see..not!

My mother co-owns a catering/craft service that provides food service for movies and photo shoots. My father is an armourer. I grew up on movie sets and I still (occasionally) help my mom out on local shoots.

Some of you must really be miserable to harbor so much antipathy for people you don’t know. I’ll list some facts, but even with knowledge I doubt if some of you can buy your souls back and face the truth…

- Ms. Jolie is probably the only actress in Hollywood who could legitimately have an action-hero franchise (i.e., Lara Croft). She has the chops to believably shoot guns and swing from rafters. She sucker-punched a shark in the second Lara Croft movie. She never looks silly.

-Marlena Dietrich was delayed at an airport and noticed the people around her. After a good look at her fellow travelers she stated that now she “understood why stars made so much money, ordinary people are so ugly”. Joan Crawford said “if you want to look at the girl next door, go next door”. Audiences want Mega-Beauty Queens and their hot romances.
Think Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, Marilyn and Joe, Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini, Ava Gardner and Frank.

What did our generation get? Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson, good girls whose prom gowns hung on their bony shoulders and who hit their points with beautiful middle-class manners.

Angelina saved us.

She has brought back the big, beautiful, silty riverbed of American romance: queen of the photo op, good-will ambassador for the U.N., free-loving promiscuite, rippling action hero, adoptive mom, daughter of a Hollywood duke of the 70′s, Oscar winner…

Few women would begrudge their lover a night with Angelina Jolie. It’s different. She inspires curiosity above all else.

She’s been charged with breaking up a marriage that most Hollywood consumers happily and delusionally believed was perfect.

Of course Brad Pitt is having an affair with Angelina Jolie! Of course cries of glorious satisfaction can be heard from Sierra Leone to Swaziland!

Talk about a new role model! What woman wouldn’t want to be gamboling with her son and “lover,” platonically building sand castles on the beach at a luxury resort on the coast of Kenya? Still, rather than feeling threatened that someone like her walks the earth, plenty of women feel liberated by her for a complicated reason: Despite her packaging, she manages to move and feel like a man. And she somehow communicates the fact that she might act on those feelings.

- Jennifer = Rachel the girl who came on TV every week for how ever many number of weeks that was. Her image is built on being the ultimate Californian girl next door. Goodlooking enough, carefully blond hair, tanned to perfection. Doesn’t do much besides doing the californian girl thing, tanning, eating out, and walking her dogs and being with her best friend, Courtney. Jennifer isn’t threatening. You can imagine yourself being her – at least, that’s what the image says. For those of us who find Angelina someone to admire, we wouldn’t aspire to be Jennifer. She isn’t someone an emotional secure woman would look up to.

Angelina, at 32, who is nothing like any girl next door you’d ever meet. Truly beautiful, sexy, dangerous, complicated. She’s dangerous but she’ll mother her children. She’s beautiful AND smart. She doesn’t give a damn about what people might say about her bisexuality or her tattoos but she cares a lot about what people might say about DARFUR. Most women simply can never imagine being Angelina. Those who are emotionally secure or seeking inspiration would find Angelina someone to aspire to and admire. Those who are emotionally insecure just find her too threatening, and want to bring her down. The tabloids will cater to the latter class of woman, unfortunately.

What Is my Passion?

I feel as though that I’m not going to get to achieve the main thing on my mind right now, and that thing is getting my degree. I think I’ve wasted all my years trying to put myself in a business perspective-like but I don’t really think my mind is focused that way. This is what frightens me the most, after all these years is that having to regret what I’ve chosen. I have not given up yet, no matter how reluctant I am, I am still here pushing. I just hope that I’ll win towards in the end. Shit, I don’t know really know what to say, my records aren’t even something that I should be proud of, be pompous of, perhaps it’s just me but I am really embarassed with them especially when you do a comparison with others.

I saw Beowulf twice last week and the second time was a lot more better! I knew I got ripped off at the Ultra Cinema in Chula Vista coz I thought they were showing IMAX 3D and I didn’t know what the difference was between IMAX 3D and just the regular 3D; of course they viewed the regular 3D, which hurts my eyes. When I looked at their websites, it said that they show IMAX 3D, when in fact it wasn’t, so for the 2nd time I headed to Edwards in Mira Mesa where the real IMAX Beowulf 3d. I initially went to this place when it was Beowulf‘s first day of showing but…but they cancelled the show several minutes after I bought my ticket and drink/etc due to technical difficulties. A lof of movie goers were pissed and opted for a different category. Anyway, the 2nd time around was much better, I was still at awe when Angie’s scene came out; I was lusting after Grendel’s mother’s and Beowulf’s hot bodies, even if they’re digitally enhanced in some shape (Beowulf’s/Ray Winstone’s was) but not Angie’s…heheheh. Overall, I liked the movie not just because of the eye candies but as well as the quality, sound, etc. I totally loved Alan Silvestri’s (sp?) score and the dragon scene. I sorta didn’t like the ending though, I didn’t want the main character to die (I didn’t read Beowulf in HS, so I had no clue what the story was) but yea, overall it was good.

I can’t wait to take my nephews to that IMAX theatre to watch Spiderwick, I think they’ll like it.

I am appalled to say this but I see myself as an Angelina fan than both of them- Brad and Angie. Of course, combine them together theres a total substance, but with all the shitty stories out there against her- she is truly one amazing woman. She may hear these shitty stories but like she said, she just dismisses them because there are far more important things out there. But I don’t know, this woman definitely has my respect, not only just being an actor and to being a humanitarian but also for being a strong woman living her life; no matter how many people downgrade her work or whatever, she still comes on top. Ai I am ranting away

I was browsing the channels earlier and came across that new reality show about Photography. My first initial thought was that I really need to pick up my manual slr camera again so I can practice more prior on buying a digital slr camera. I would really love to get my hands and experiment with slr digital cameras with those bazooka lens as I call them but for now I only have my manual slr (i’m not feeling my regular digicams right now for I think I’ve become bored with them). Anyway if only I have multiple amount of time given to me, such a life. Perhaps next year I’ll get to drive the beaten path and just snap away. Lastly, there’s a piece of me telling me that I should’ve been a photojournalist major…hmm?
